Albuquerque Trip

Sandia Mountains in Albuquerque! This is our street!
Edward relaxing in our hotel room! He was such a great traveler!

The backyard of our rental home. We can't wait to have visitors!!!

Front of the house! Welcome to the southwest!

We had a great trip to NM last week. As we were leaving Tuesday evening, we got a phone call from a realtor with an offer on our house!!! We countered their offer and they accepted! It was all signed on Thursday, but of course, we still have the inspection and closing before it is all official.
After dropping W off in Florence Tuesday night, we headed for ABQ Wednesday morning. My mom went with us to help with Edward and to help us find a good place. Edward was so good on the trip. He slept through most of the flights and he was great in the car, too!

We started looking at houses Wednesday and it took us until Saturday evening to make a decision! We love, love, love the house we chose. It won out because it was in a very safe neighborhood, close to W's school, and we also love the mountain views!

I am starting to get very excited about moving. It will be an adventure, for sure! I hope lots of friends and family come to visit! We move in less than 3 months!!!

Happy Easter!

Photo shoot before church!
The boys after church. Great smile, Edward!

Dying eggs earlier in the week.

Our pitiful family photo!

We had a great Easter. We colored eggs earlier this week. It was fun, but such a huge mess. William managed to spill several cups of dye all over the table and himself. John had to use lava soap to get the dye off W's hands! But, he had a great time, so it was worth it! Next year, we will do that activity outside! :)

The boys got their baskets before church and William opened every egg and ate all of his candy in mere minutes! He even went through Edward's eggs, but I assured him that the Easter Bunny knows that Edward can't have candy. After church, we had mom and Mark over for lunch and we played outside before naptime.

We are heading to Albuquerque this week to find a house! I'll post pictures when we get back!

Time Out! Several New posts...scroll down for more!

So, we have been working on discipline in our house and we recently started doing time out (along with spanking, of course). So far, it has been very successful. When I put William on the kitchen mat, he cries the whole time and to me, that means it is a success. He fears the mat! So, I was curious when I found two of his monkeys on the mat. That would be Doctor and Mommy monkey. I asked William to tell me about it and he said "doc doc mommy jump on bed fall ock (off)". Oh, so you put them in time out? "YES!!!!!". He also told me that they cried. Hilarious!

Bye Bye, Blankie!!!!!

William and his beloved blankie!!!
Sleeping the car with blankie!

Waking up in the morning with blankie!

Well, the time has finally come to say good-bye! We were out shopping last Friday and we accidently left William's blankie in a toy store. I didn't realize we had left it until we got all the way back home and it was already naptime. I knew we did not have time to go back across town, so I told W the blanket was too far away. He surprisingly did fine without it. We did have a few nights where he cried some, but nothing like I had imagined. He woke up in the night and cried two nights, but then, it was done. He still will ask about it and I just tell him it is at the toy store and it is far away. I did go back the next day and get it. I wanted to keep it as a memory. He still has his paci, but that will also be gone soon. We want to wait until after our trip to Albuquerque. William will be staying with John's parents and we want him to have the paci while we are away.

Now, Edward is already getting attached to a blanket. It helps him go to sleep, but I hope I do a better job of keeping it in the crib. William got to where he carried that nasty blanket EVERYWHRE!!!!!!!

Gran's Visit to B'ham

Edward enjoying some time outside in the bumbo.
Uncle Matt and William in the ER!

Gran and William resting after a fun day!

We stopped and had some ice cream at Brusters.

Lunch at Tip Top Grill!

My 80 year old grandmother came to visit us for two weeks in March. We had the best time!!!! She loves to shop in the "big city". William entertained her every day! We took her to some good restaurants and we shopped when we could. My mom and I took turns cooking supper and having everyone over at night. We were all sad to see her go! We hope to go visit her in Arkansas soon.

When she was here, my brother and his band stopped on their way to Biloxi. Long story, but they ended up in the ER with one of their band members who was ill. SO, we loaded up the car and went to the ER to see Uncle Matt. William enjoyed seeing his uncle who plays the guitar!!! They left that same night and the friend was fine. It was a nice surprise to get to see Matt--he stays very busy these days. I just wish Jessica and Drew were with him!

Spring Break in Florence

William and Brooke eating at their own table!

William helped Mamaw make biscuits. He really got into it!

William getting his bath in the sink.

The boys and I spent a week in Florence recently. We had a great visit. William got to play with his cousins and Mamaw and Papa. He had a great time checking the cows, playing with Whitt, Sam and Ben. John got to come up for the weekend, and we had dinner with the Hovaters. John will be working with Jeff when we move to Florence next year. Their daughter, Brooke, and William are the same age, so they enjoyed playing while we enjoyed a great meal. We are looking forward to more fun times when we settle in Florence. They also have a new baby boy, so Edward and Jake will probably grow up to be big buddies, too! We always enjoy our visits to Florence!!!! Someday soon we won't have to visit--we will live there!

March Snowfall!!!

William and John playing outside!
Mommy made us stay inside until Daddy got home!

We woke up Sunday, March 1st to our first snow of the season!!!! It was so beautiful. John had to go in and work that morning, so the boys and I took some pictures inside. Then, when John got home, he took William outside to play. It took W a few minutes to get into it, but he quickly got the hang of making snowballs. He was so sad to see it all melt away later that day!
